In the Leadership from Within newsletter, I share thoughts that arise from my manuscript work (books I am reading and ideas from various in-process chapters, research notes, and stuff that didn't make it into the manuscript).

And often, I’ll post sections from chapters and request feedback from my readers.

I’ll also occasionally drop in writing that has appeared elsewhere that I think my Substack readers should know about.

I am several chapters into the process of writing a book titled Leadership from Within: Navigating the Path Toward Soul-Driven Success. Below are my current vision for the book:

• Reader Statement: My book is for Christian leaders who desire to live and lead purposefully while flourishing personally and professionally.

• Core Message: Christian leaders will flourish personally and professionally by living purposefully and following a compelling life rhythm.

• My Promise: By the end of my book, you will have the information and tools to develop a sustainable life rhythm that will help you live and lead purposefully and serve you personally and professionally.

About Me

I retired from twenty-two years of active-duty military service: fourteen years as a Navy Chaplain and some enlisted time as a Marine and Army National Guardsman. I have been in active Christian leadership for many years, pastoring in local church settings and a Christian drug and alcohol recovery program.

Over my years as a military chaplain in deployed environments, I learned to live a holistically healthy life and care for myself under challenging circumstances. My book arises from my passion for the soul care of faith-driven leaders.

I am an endorsed leadership coach with a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership Renewal and Coaching from Regent University. Most importantly, I am a devoted Christian, husband, father, and soon-to-be grandfather.

I look forward to telling my stories and dad jokes to grandchildren one day because my children tell me they have heard all my stories, and my dad jokes are terrible. They also tell him they love him all the same.
